How to take a relaxing bath
Do you consider yourself a bath or shower person?
When paired with part of a before bed routine, baths can be a way to signal to your body that it is time for bed and be a time that you get some peace and quiet in your busy day!
Benefits of taking a relaxing bath:
- promote relaxation
- improving sleep
- ease headaches
- soothe joint or muscle pain
How to take a relaxing bath:
- set the atmosphere
- light a candle
- play a relaxing playlist
- dim the lights
- add ins
- Dr Mark Hyman recommends:
- Take an UltraBath, as recommended by Mark Hyman, MD. Add two cups of Epsom salt, a half-cup of baking soda, and 10 drops of lavender oil to a hot bath. Soak for 20 minutes.
- Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate)
- may aid in detoxification
- may reduce inflammation
- essential oil
- lavender is relaxing
- try switching it to eucalyptus or peppermint if you have a stuffy nose or headache
