Real life- Real Fitness 11/2/19- making time for workouts!

Let’s face it, life is busy. Fitting in working out is hard, but with some creativity and planning it is possible!! People say all of the time- “I don’t have time to workout.” But we all have time for what we make time for. Think about everything that happens in our day. There are plenty of time wasters, I am guilty of it everyday!! If social media takes up 30 minutes out of your day (that is probably a very conservative number for most people), that is 30 minutes that could of been put towards a workout. What I have found, is when I sit down and actually write “workout” on my calendar it’s when it happens. I wrote a really honest blog post recently about how I struggled with an unhealthy relationship with working out, and how I overcame that. If you are interested in reading it, click here.

Planning my workout:

I have to actually write it in my calendar. If I don’t, then it is very possible it won’t happen. I am horrible at time management, without using a calendar or timer to assist me. I always think that I can get more things done then humanly possible. Then I run around like a maniac and feel rushed and late, and like a failure, because I didn’t get done, what I had set out to. So I  write on my paper calendar (yes I LOVE my paper calendar) when I will do each task or activity. Then I allot a certain amount of time to each task/activity and use my timer on my phone to coordinate my time. Using a timer is a game-changer in my day and life to be honest.

Being creative with my workout:

My current workout routine is my all time favorite. I started using Beachbody a few months ago and it really changed the way I work out. I now have  a ton of pre-made programs that I can pick from. If I get a little bored or need a change, I can choose something new for a day or two. There are programs that you can use equipment on- weights, bands a pull up bar, and there are programs that require nothing except you! It has been so beneficial for me to add to my life! If you are interested in me being your Beach body coach (my coach id is 2037855)- send me a message! It is really just AMAZING! Ways to “think out of the box”

    • Park as far away as I can to get extra steps
    • Take the stairs
    • Do 10 squats/10 pushups every 10 minutes
    • Basically add in movement whenever you can!

What ever you do, make sure you take the time to practice muscle recovery- be nice to those hard working muscles!!
