Friday Favorites- 5 Things Making Me Happy this Week 2/5/21

February is here! I am not sure if January was long or short- it feels a little of both. If you need a little sunshine in your day, check out the 5 things making me happy this week!

5 things making me happy this week:

1. Peaceful mornings

Peaceful morning

Carving out time for myself in the mornings has been life changing. Getting up just 20 minutes earlier has allowed me to start my day peacefully and with intention. The things that are currently working for me are:

  1. Pouring a cup of coffee (I make this the night before and then set the program function to have it auto start, so it’s ready when I wake up)
  2. Diffusing essential oil (My current favorite is Peace and Calming by Young Living)
  3. Meditating- using the Calm app, I do a daily meditation each morning
  4. Once my meditation is done, I turn on my record player. My current favorite record is Brook White
  5. Then I start my morning journaling (ready to start journaling, but don’t know where to start- read my post “How to start Journaling”)

2. My goal planning printables

There is something about writing out my goals and to do lists that brings me focus. I use an electronic calendar, but for goals and daily to-dos, apps just don’t work for me. I have bought several different planners and notebooks, but I could never quite make them work for what I really needed. So I decided to create my own! Interested in trying them out? 3. New card game- Dutch Blitz

This fast paced card game is becoming one of our favorites. As we read through the instructions it seemed confusing at first, but once we started playing, we caught on really fast. If you want to give it a try find it here on Amazon.

4. My new journal routine

The way I journal changes from time to time, the point is to do what works in your life. It can look however you want. In my post “How to start journaling”find some practical ways to get started.

Morning journal prompts that I am using currently~

  1. How do I want to feel today: (these are usually things like- productive, peaceful, calm, happy, etc)
  2. Ways to help me feel this way (Here I list specific things that I can do to help me feel the way I want to feel- like; meditate, journal, set a timer, etc)
  3. My top 3 things to get done- these are the things that are the most important to get done & go at the top of my to do list!

5. Workout program- 10 Rounds

Doing Beachbody programs has helped me in so many ways. If you want to hear all the details,  see my post “The best way to workout from home.” 10 Rounds is my 8th program that I have done with Beachbody. It is a kickboxing program that incorporates, throwing different punches (jab, cross, hook, etc), cardio, lifting weights and core work. Changing up workouts is a great way to use different muscle groups and keep your body more fit! When I am all done with the program, I will give a review on how it went- so stay tuned.
