The definition of goal from the Oxford dictionary is “the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result”. I am really great at having goals and have the best intentions of making them happen. What I lack, at times, is follow through, and it is frustrating. After reading The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin, I learned some reasons why this happens. My tendency (or motivation) is that I am an Obliger. According to the book, Obligers “readily meet outer expectations, but struggle to meet inner expectations.” The answer about my goal setting, but lack of follow through, is quite simple after reading this book. I need an outer expectation in order to meet my goals. What better way then to use my blog to do so!! My plan is sit down and make my monthly goals, blog about them and then do a recap on Tuesdays on where I am at on my goals.
