5 Things to be Grateful For~ Friday’s Favorites 2/12/21

Reflecting about my favorite things from the week is something I look forward to! Sometimes the smallest things have the greatest impact. Let’s face it- life can be overwhelming,  weather you are going through loss, a life change, winter blahs or just day to day life. When feeling overwhelmed it helps me to pause and bring gratitude into my life. Finding 5 things to be grateful for brings me to the present, allows me to take a deep breath and just be.

5 things to be grateful for this week:

1.Oatmeal

This yummy protein oatmeal bowl has been my go to breakfast this week.

Here’s how I make it…

  • Cook 1 package of instant oatmeal (I use Better Oats Organic) per package instructions
  • Add
    • 1 scoop of vanilla protein
    • 1 spoonful of peanut butter
  • Stir & add cashew milk if too thick
  • Enjoy!

2.Warm things

It has been very cold here the past week. I am talking highs in the single digits and lows below zero. Anything that makes me warmer is a good thing. Our fireplace has been running pretty much non-stop. We also have a heated mattress cover on our bed and lots of cozy blankets around the house to cuddle up with.

3.Peace and Calming essential oil by Young Living

This oil is what I diffuse when I am meditating. Right before I put it in my diffuser I take 2 deep breaths just breathing in the oil right from the bottle. It instantly makes me feel calmer.

4.Looking through pictures

There is something so fun about looking pictures. My sweet grandma passed away this past week, and I made a picture board for her service. So I have spent the week looking through pictures. It was great to be able to reminisce and see pictures of my childhood and my kids growing up and all of the memories that came along with it!

5.My DIY Body Oil

One of my favorite sources for DIY’s with essential oils is Breathe and Bloom I followed one of her DIY recipes and made it my own!

Using a 16oz bottle with a pump (found here on Amazon)

Fill about 1/2 way with almond oil

Then I added essential oil (about 25 drops each)

  • Lavender
  • Frankincense
  • Eucalyptus

Next fill the remainder of the bottle with 1/2 Vitamin E oil and Jojoba oil

Well that’s a wrap for this week’s favorites! If you want more favorite things check out last week’s favorites. I would love to here 5 things that you are grateful for.
