Easy meal plan for the week

How to make an easy meal plan

Well hi friends! As much as I love the holidays, I really enjoy the start of a new year. It’s a fresh start to get re-organized and put some great practices into place. One of the practices that helps our home run smoothly is making an easy meal plan for the week. If you are new to meal planning, check out my post on how to weekly meal plan!

Monday:

BBQ Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans (Home Chef meal)

Tuesday:

Argentinean Steak and Potato tacos (Home Chef meal)

Wednesday:

Tacos bowls

Knowing everything that is in my taco seasoning is so reassuring. I know there are no questionable ingredients or preservatives in it- AND it only takes a minute to make!

  • 1 TBL chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 TBL cumin
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Cook hamburger until done & then add the taco seasoning to it. Add 3/4 cup water and let it simmer until the water has evaporated

Then layer to your preference

  • Taco meat
  • Beans- black or refried
  • Cauliflower rice or traditional rice
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes- diced
  • Shredded cheese
  • Avocado
  • Salsa
  • Sour cream
  • Cilantro

After you have everything all layered- mix and enjoy!!

Thursday:

Leftovers

If there is not a leftovers night scheduled, we end up having food that we have to toss. That’s the worst! So to avoid that problem, I schedule 1-2 leftover nights a week.

Friday:

Chinese Meatballs by gimme some oven

Saturday:

Out to Eat

Sunday:

Chicken tikka masala in the Instant Pot by Well Plated

Things that have made meal planning easier

  1. Put time to make a meal plan on your calendar
  2. Take an inventory of what you already have & use it
  3. Grocery shop for everything you need for the week at one time
  4. We started using Home Chef for 2 meals a week- I pick the oven ready meals, so that most of the prep work is done!
